General Information: Found in offshore and inshore reefs forming schools. Juveniles are can be found along shores of sandy beaches, also over muddy bottoms. Has been known to swim in rivers. Adults feed on fishes, shrimps, and other invertebrates. Often approach divers. Eggs are pelagic.  In Trinidad and Tobago is known as cavalli, where is very popular and highly consumed.
