General Information: Adults are often found in offshore reefs and and coastal coral reefs. Juveniles can be seen near shore on seagrass beds or often associated jellyfish or floating Sargassum. Normally a solitary species but sometimes can form small groups. They feed on small fishes. Spawning occurs offshore from February to October. Flavor considered fair to good.  In Tobago is often found between 60 and 100 ft deep near rocks and coral reefs and specially up current from any major structure.
